High Efficiency Tanks
To reduce ever increasing energy and operating costs, a range of electrically heated "High Efficiency" vertical tanks is available conforming to RBA best practice and having no less than 300mm of external insulation. Energy consumption is further reduced by use of progressive heating controls.
Vertical Storage Tanks
The preferred method of storage for locations where ground space is at a premium, vertical tanks are usually electrically heated. The bitumen temperature and tank content levels can be continuously adjusted, monitored and read remotely from the asphalt plant control station and, in keeping with the latest health and safety regulations, alarm warnings for high temperature or overfill excursions are now installed as standard.
Tank capacities are available from 30 - 150 m3
Horizontal Storage Tanks
Being easier to transport and requiring a smaller crane to install, horizontal tanks are preferred for export orders.
These are usually hot-oil heated with integral heat transfer coils and automatic temperature control valves.
Tank capacities are available from 30 - 60 m3
Hot-Oil Heating Systems
In addition to electric heating systems, one of a range of fully automatic hot oil heaters operating at very high efficiency ratios is normally supplied with overseas shipments to provide heat to both the bitumen storage tanks and also the bitumen pump and delivery pipe-work.
Heating capacities from 300,000 - 800,000 kCal/h are available.
